Overview

The Banda Arc is one of the best places on Earth to study active deformation, this presentation will explore the active deformation in the Banda Arc region over the last several hundred thousand years.  To do this data from three different timescales will be presented in an effort to see how things have been deforming and how they are currently deforming.  Then we can see if there are any differences.    The different timescales are:

• Current deformation-GPS data

• 100 years or less-Earthquake data

• 100,000 years-Uplift rates and structure of Accretionary wedges
